3rd round: Can Slavia complete a hattrick of wins?

The 3rd round offers some interesting matches. The round kicks off with the duel between Jihlava and Bohemians, both teams having failed to notch up any points so far this season. Slavia welcome Liberec, with Slavia looking for their third win in a row in what will prove to be a difficult match against Liberec.

3rd round: Can Slavia complete a hattrick of wins?

FC Vysočina Jihlava - Bohemians Praha 1905 (Friday, 18:00)
Jihlava welcome Bohemians with both teams looking for their first points of the season.  The game seems evenly balanced and it will be interesting to see if Jihlava can return to the form they displayed in the spring season.  Having saved Bohemians from relegation last season, coach Roman Pavarník will be looking for a result show the faith shown in him by the club was not misplaced.

FC Baník Ostrava - FK Teplice (Friday, 20:15)
Teplice return to the competition, having only played one game.  Their last match was postponed due to the sudden death of longstanding coach František Hrdlička.  Baník come into the game on the back of their defeat by Slavia in the previous round, making Teplice the favourites starting the game

FK Baumit Jablonec - 1. FC Slovácko (Saturday, 17:00)
Both Jablonec and Slovácko have one win a piece so far this season.  Baumit reinforced their squad over the summer break, but after beating Brno in the first round, they were beaten by Plzeň last week.  Slovácko lost their first match of the season against Slavia despite being the better team but returned to goalscoring form as the put four past Bohemians last weekend.  Jablonec go into the match as narrow favourites, having the home field advantage.

FK Dukla Praha - FC Zbrojovka Brno (Saturday, 17:00)
Dukla drew their first game of the season with Baník, but then surprised Boleslav as they beat their opponents 1:0 thanks to a goal from Frenchman Beauguel.  Brno have three points in the league, having beaten Hradec Králové in the last round.  Dukla will have to perform better offensively if they are to walk away with the three points.

1.FK Příbram - AC Sparta Praha (Saturday, 20:15)
Sparta go into the game against Příbram as favourites but Příbram are always difficult opponents.  In the first round, Příbram managed a draw against Plzeň and drew again against Liberec last week thanks to an outstanding performance by keeper Hrošš.  The Letna team will probably not send their strongest team as they are currently involved in a series of difficult matches to qualify for the Europa liga.  This opens up the possibility of Příbram springing a surprise on their home turf.

FC Hradec Králové - FK Mladá Boleslav (Sunday, 17:00)
It will be interesting to see how Hradec fare against Boleslav, having taken a respectable draw against Teplice but losing last week to Brno.  Boleslav have a chance to advance in the Europa liga but come into the match having lost to Dukla in the previous round.

SK Dynamo České Budějovice - FC Viktoria Plzeň (Sunday, 17:00)
České Budějovice play their second match of the season after their last match against Teplice was postponed.  The home fans will be looking forward to the clash against Plzeň, who come into the match clear favourites having beaten a strengthened Jablonec side.  Any other result than a win for Plzeň would be a surprise.

SK Slavia Praha - FC Slovan Liberec (Sunday, 20:15)
Slavia, under new coach Koubek, have had a dream start to their season after winning their first two matches against Slovácko and Baník.  Slavia will be looking to complete a hattrick of wins as they take on Liberec at Eden.  Slovan have had an indifferent start to the season with two draws against Budějovice and Příbram.  In an evenly balanced match, it will be interesting to see who emerges victorious.
