28th round: Sparta fighting for place in Champions League pre-qualification
The title and the teams relegated may well be decided in this round. A Plzeň win will make them league champions while Jablonec and Sparta are toughing it out for second place and a spot in Champions League next season. Mladá Boleslav are defending a slim two point advantage over their rivals for fourth place.
FC Zbrojovka Brno - Bohemians Praha
1905 (Friday, 18:00)
The round kicks off with the match between
Brno and Bohemains on Friday. Brno have
had a good spring season, especially at home, only losing one match to
Dukla. Bohemians are also in good form,
having been unbeaten in their last four matches including wins over Teplice and
Budějovice, and draws against Liberec and Boleslav.
AC Sparta Praha - 1.FC Slovácko
(Friday, 20:30)
The title will most probably go to Plzeň,
but Sparta still have a lot at stake as they battle for second place in the
league and a spot in the pre-qualification round in the Champions League. Slovácko have proved unimpressive at home
during the spring season, but have achieved better results away from home. In the last nine metetings of the clubs,
Slovácko has failed to win and Friday’s match at Letna
may well prove no different.
FK Teplice - 1.FK Příbram (Sunday,
15:00)
Thanks to a win over Jihlava in the last
round, Teplice are still in with a chance of participating in European
competition next season. Příbram had a
horrible start to the season and at one point were languishing near the bottom
of the league. However, the arrival of
coach Tobiás have seen a reversal in their fortunes, and they have an outside
chance of a place in the Europa liga next season.
FC Slovan Liberec - FC Hradec
Králové (Sunday, 17:00)
Liberec welcome Hradec Králové, in what
may prove a very important relegation match.
Hradec need to win the match if they stand any chance of playing in the
SYNOT liga next season. Liberec are favourites going into the game, and a win
would almost assure them of a place in top flight competition next season.
FC Baník Ostrava - SK Dynamo České
Budějovice (Sunday, 17:00)
Ostrava have had a horrible spring season,
which has seen them slides down the table from fifth position with only one
win. Hradec come into the game having
beaten Dukla 1:0 in the last round, and will want to repeat their 1:0 autumn defeat of
their opponents.
SK Slavia Praha - FK Dukla Praha
(Sunday, 18:00)
In the small Prague derby, Slavia test
their strength against rivals Dukla.
Both teams have something to play for.
Slavia will be looking for a win to secure their place in the SYNOT liga
next season while a Dukla win would keep them in
contention for a place in Europe next season.
FK Mladá Boleslav - FK Baumit
Jablonec (Sunday, 18:00)
The highlight of the round is the clash
between Boleslav and Jablonec. Jablonec
will be looking for the win if they are to stand a chance of catching second
place Sparta. Boleslav could only
manage a draw in the last round and are currently fourth in the table, two
points ahead of their nearest rivals.
Boleslav need the win to take one step closer to a place in the Europa
liga next season.
FC Viktoria Plzeň - FC Vysočina
Jihlava (pondělí, 18:00)
Plzeň welcome Jihlava and could lift the
title if they can beat their rivals.
Plzeň are the clear favourites going into the match. Jihlava are certain of their place in the
SYNOT liga next season, and as such have nothing to fight for.
